About Laura!
Growing up in an artistic family, I began my journey as a child and later studied Art, English and Multimedia in university and college.
After working in Multimedia, I returned to school to acquire my teaching degree. Combining my skillset, I then filmed an art history documentary in Italy, where I discovered my love for exploring art, architecture and culture in other countries (see a few of those destinations on the left).
For five years I taught Art and English in Europe and the Middle East, explored 28 different countries and returned to Canada with a few souvenirs – including a husband! Though quite a change of pace after a multitude of adventures, I became reacquainted with my creative side while being a mom to two daughters. Travelling is different with small children, but as they get older, my husband and I look forward to exploring more exotic destinations again with our girls.
Life is busy now that I'm a wife, a mom and a volunteer, but I paint in my studio as often as possible. The colour combinations in my work are often inspired by my love of nature, as well as the countries I have explored. I use the beautiful Italian language to title my paintings - as an homage to my heritage and love for the diverse country.
My abstract acrylic paintings and jewellery are available for purchase online and locally within the Greater Toronto Area. See events for information about where you can find me next!
